Association

       This is a very special Alumni Dinner because this year we are celebrating our 120th CONTINUOUS GHS Alumni Banquet.  Our dinner date is the SECOND Saturday in May, a small change from last year’s date.  Please mark your calendars for May 12 and get your reservations in before May 7.  The evening will begin with a Friendship Hour at 4:30PM in the Goshen High School lobby.  Appetizers and beverages will be provided by the alumni committee during the Friendship Hour.  The Friendship Hour is free for anyone wishing to attend. Dinner will follow the Friendship Hour and begins at 6:30PM in the gym.  The dinner cost is $17.50 per person.

This year, we will honor the classes of 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, and 2018.  We need one member of each honored class to introduce their class members.  We will also be recognizing any graduates beyond 1967 as well. If you would like to be the representative for your class, please contact Candy Meadors at 513.310.2626.   

During the banquet, we will be inducting our newest Hall of Fame members as well as presenting our scholarships to this year’s winners.  Last year, NINE deserving winners received scholarships in the amount $1,000 each. The deserving were: Anna Dowd, Sierra Hampton, Sam Edwards, Kendra Dietrich, Arleigh Smith, Gaby Schafer, Cheyanne Perkins, Conner Coleman, and Max Harp.  The amounts of our scholarships vary depending upon the donations we receive from our alumni.  Any amount donated is needed and appreciated. Even small amounts allow us to give our grads a college opportunity.  If all our members donated a dollar, we could fund at least three scholarships. Please consider a donation this year.

Our Alumni Association has been very active this past year.   We have supported the efforts of Marr-Stagge Park to continue making park improvements.  If any other alumnus would like would like to give directly to the park send a check to Joe Spaulding (6786 Oakland Road Loveland, Ohio 45140).   The Alumni also donated supplies to the Goshen Grads Give Back campaign to provide blankets and meals to the homeless during the Holiday season. We also supported the GHS After Prom Committee by making a monetary donation.

ALUMNI DINNER INFO

Please look at your address label.  If your graduation year is not listed on the second line, please contact Joyce Croley by email at historian@goshenalumni.com or at 937.783.4329.  Are you planning to move or did you get this letter from a relative or a friend? We need your updated information. If you have an email address, please send us that information as well.  The Alumni Association meets the second Sunday at the high school from October through April at 2:00 PM. We need more members to attend!


 Dinner tickets may be obtained by enclosing a request with a check for the dinner(s).  Please include your graduation year on your check. If you would like to have your dinner tickets mailed to you, please enclose a SELF ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE.  

You may contact Candy Fisher Meadors for dinner tickets at 513.310.2626, ONLY in the evening or weekend hours.  THE DEADLINE FOR REQUESTS FOR DINNER TICKETS IS May 7, 2018.  All checks for dinner tickets should be written to the GOSHEN HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION.  Please fill out the back of your ticket before the dinner. There will no registration at the door this year; it is imperative the ticket is completed before arrival. DOOR PRIZES WILL BE AVAILABLE THIS YEAR AT THE DINNER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THEIR NAME ON THE BACK OF THEIR TICKET.  

Since 1996, Mr. Mark Slagle has served as the President of the GHS Alumni Association.  This year will his final year in this position. He has served our committee loyally and diligently during those years.  We appreciate all his hard work and dedication over the years to the students and alumni of Goshen High School.

2018 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES


The GHS Alumni  Association is pleased to announce that Janice Burger Schoellman (Class of ‘65), Willis Gormley, Marilyn Howland Hodges (Class of ‘61), and the football "Chain Gang" members Joe Steele (Class of ‘62) and Ed Bailey (Class of ‘68) will be inducted into the Goshen High School Hall of Fame this  year. Their biographies will be posted on our website www.goshenalumni.com. We hope that you will join us on May 12th as we honor these outstanding inductees.



Special Recognition

    The GHS Alumni Association would like to thank Mr. Bob Fawley for his support of the Alumni Association. Bob has established a $1000.00 continuous scholarship in memory of his parents.                      We appreciate your continued support in the past and the future.

We will be presenting Bob and Richalee Rice with our special Appreciation Awards at this year’s banquet. We would also like to thank Mrs. Richalee Rice.  Mrs Rice has donated to the Alumni Association for more than 40 years.  She is the longest continuous donor to the Alumni Scholarship Fund.

During the banquet, we will be presenting an official Hall of Fame plaque to previously inducted member Mr. Charles Fant (Class of 1991).  After the banquet, the plaque will be officially installed on our GHS Alumni Hall of Fame located in the high school foyer.  Mr. Fant was unable to join us last year. We are so pleased and honored that he is able to attend this year’s banquet.

For the comfort of all guests, we will be setting 50 additional spaces to help grads sit together.

 Serving may take a little longer since we can’t preset the salads, but this seating arrangement will

 allow groups to sit together.  Anyone can request a reserved seating area for groups of 10 or more

individuals by contacting Candy Meadors.
