Gladys Grigg Hale

 

 

 

      Gladys Grigg was a teacher at Goshen High School during the 1923 and 1924 school years. Gladys was originally from Detroit Michigan but graduated from Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio. She graduated from Wilmington College in 1922, although she had attended Asbury College in Ky for two years.  She was one month from becoming a Methodist preacher when she left for Wilmington. Gladys met her husband St Clair Hale while both of them attended Wilmington College. Gladys and St Clair were married in 1924 and then moved to Detriot Michigan. Gladys never worked after she married so she could raise her daughter Marilyn Elizabeth born in October 1926.  Gladys loved history, art, music and dancing. She served on the altar guild of the Detriot Episcopal Cathedral.  Gladys died in 1968 of cancer and is buried in a Wilmington Cemetery.
